

Alila Brossard Antonielli, postdoctoral researcher at the ERC Socialist Medicine, together with Dr Gabrielle Robbins, of Johns Hopkins University, just published an annotated bibliography on African Pharmaceuticals.
This annotated bibliography is a fantastic resource for an introduction or a literature search on uses, production and circulation of Drugs and Pharmaceuticals in the African continent. With over 14 sections, the authors selected major research works discussing early modern medicinal substances to the politics of pharmaceutical circulation and access. It also contains important sections on Medical Pluralism, Medicine and Colonial Power, Drugs in International Aid Regimes and Bioprospecting, among others. Through 120 historical and anthropological scholar references, the article gives students and scholars a comprehensive entry on the major research questions on the social roles of medicines in the continent.
